Bookroo Picture Book Club Subscription Box Review

Since the start of the pandemic, school has been a challenge for many of us, and many of us are still facing a lot of uncertainty, anxiety and worry about this school year being any better. Reading aloud can give students and teachers are welcome break from the stress brought on by the 2020-2021 school year. Bookroo wants to help you Keep Calm & Read On with their unique book club subscription boxes.

As a BookRoo affiliate, I was provided a free sample Bookroo subscription box in exchange for my honest review.

What is Book Roo?

Bookroo is a book subscription box. Bookroo offers Board Book Club subscription box suitable for kids aged 0-3, a Picture Book Club subscription box suitable for kids aged 3-6, and a Chapter Book subscription box suitable for kids aged 7-10.

What Comes in a Box?

Each box includes high quality wrapped books (your kids will get the excitement of unwrapping a new book), and an insert for parents explaining the books included that month and sharing details from the authors and illustrators. The Board Book Club box comes with 3 books, while the Picture Book Club box, and Chapter Book Club box each come with 2 books.

How Often Will I Get a Box?

You can choose between Month to Month, 3 Month Prepay, 6 Month Prepay, or 12 Month Prepay options. By default, the boxes will ship every month, but an every-other-month option is available. Scroll down to see how you can save 20% off a 3-month Subscription during the month of September.

My Honest Bookroo Review:

We were so excited when our box arrived. We opted for the Picture Book Club box, for ages 3-6. When we opened the box, we found two books neatly wrapped in bright, fun wrapping paper. On top of the wrapped books was the insert sharing details about the books included.

Unwrapping the books was exciting for my kids, they were excited to see what titles were included. Both of the books we received were high quality hardcover books with dust jackets.

I enjoyed that both books included in the box were new to me and my children. It was fun for us to read titles that we had never heard of before. Our family really enjoyed reading both books. I don’t think we would have discovered them on our own.

We were very happy with the shipping speed, the wrapping, and the quality of the books we received. We enjoyed the novel experience of receiving books that were a surprise to everyone in the family, and getting to read titles we may not have picked out on our own.

Using Bookroo in the Classroom:

Bookroo is not the cheapest way to grow your classroom library, of course you can find books cheaper at used bookstores. However, if you are looking for a fun experience for you and your class to look forward to each month, receiving a Bookroo box can be a fun reward. You could even let your students earn the opportunity to unwrap a Bookroo book as a whole class reward for classroom management.
